Ms. Sophia T. Hasselbeck is a true southerner from St. Louis, Missouri.  (Confused?  Ask Dred Scott if Missouri is in the South, and then wipe that look off of your face.) And by true southerner, we mean that she likes her meat smothered and her biscuits buttery. 

Other than that, she actually hardly identifies with the Southern archetype, as she is not now, nor has she ever been involved in a debutante ball,  the Republican Party, or any manner of cake walk.

She does, however, have a special affinity toward the very fictional Ms. Whitley Gilbert ("hyphen Wayne"), a fellow southern belle.  In reality, we suspect her affection for the nasal-voiced one has much more to do with her actual attributes: fashionable, educated, articulate, and socially awakened (most days).  

And sometimes, Ms. Sophia just lives up to her namesake, though only a few things can get her that angry, including (but not limited to):

• Domestic Violence
• General Coonery
• Inappropriate Re-appropriation of Non-European Cultures
• Ineffective Public Education
• Dangerous Political Hyperbole
• Epic Idiocy 

Put simply, Ms. Sophia is a black chick with something to say about everything and everybody--including herself--especially when she gets too bourgie for anyone's good.  She's educated enough to know that learning is continual and the best opinions are informed, well-researched, and fluid.

Ms. Sophia currently resides on the eastern seaboard and spends her time using the insanity of the modern world to fuel her Gchat humor and trying to end educational inequity (really!)
